When it comes to finances, congress must be financially responsible. Having an efficient and effective government is a matter of standing firm on truth, not compromise. When compromise overrules truth, it only benefits political parties and special interest groups. There are certainly times when compromise is appropriate. But compromise can never overrule truth, if the people are to benefit.
